Rather, I broke yet another needle on my mother's sewing machine. The last one she had. I got the wallet made to a really cute messenger bag I'm making and then started on the bag. I got absolutely no where. So I'm going to Wal-Mart tomorrow to get more needles.
I got started on a sweater for Stinky Pete yesterday. It's going to be really cute!

Amber Goodness
I don't know what it is, but there's just something comforting about a beautiful tea cup filled with the amber goodness that is tea. My parents bought some herbal tea for me on their trip, and I brewed a cup of it tonight. It was wonderful!
I've decided I really need someone to knit with. A sort of Sit n Stitch buddy...something to ponder...

WOMN
Here's an updated pic of the cardigan I'm working on. I actually haven't worked on it much in the past two days. Yesterday and today both I took much needed naps. I have gotten alot of work done on the shrug for Blair's sister-in-law (no pic of this).
Nothing else that's on my needles has been touched for a long time...I may need to fix that soon...
Many Much OhPhooey
Blair and I went to Jackson last night to eat and go see the new outdoors store in the Columns (and a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, of course) and then used my NEW GPS UNIT to go to Anita's house (Karen's mom). Granny and Pop came over, too, and we played 2 big rounds of our favorite game in the world, OhPhooey. Karen, of course, immediately proceeded to beat us all! Even after she started the 2nd round with a 30 point handicap (of doom). Blair entertained us all with a rendition of I'm Proud to be an American that he likes to call I'm Proud to be an Arabian. After many much cookies, ice cream and milk (and a desperate attempt to beat Karen on Anita's part that involved removing a card I had just played...we like to call that cheating, folks) Blair and I returned home.
I didn't get any knitting done yesterday at all, so hopefully I'll be able to make up for it today. Mom and Dad are scheduled to return this evening from their two week trip out west...I wonder if that means gifts...

Many Much Updates
I added several items to my Etsy page today. I've had several people look at them but no purchases just yet. I guess those will come later!
My Etsy Shop
I opened it last night!! It doesn't have too much on it yet, but I'm hoping to change that this weekend. The link is in my link list on the side of my blog. The name of my store is Willow Bird Creations, and all ya'll should go visit it!!

What's on My Needles Now
I just started a new cardigan, and I'm going to do my best to keep pics posted as I work on it. It's from the book Knit 2 Together by Mel Clark and Tracey Ulman. I just started the back, so if I fail to keep you updated, sent me a message and harass me!

Two Weeks and One Sweater Later...
I'm so excited that this is finished!! And to top it off, it fits like a dream! I'm always worried about that when I make clothing, unsure that I got my gauge right to begin with, but this is perfect. It's made out of a super-soft organic cotton that is just dream-worthy. Not very fall-like, yes, I know, but the cardigan I'm going to start next will be, so I guess it's ok.
I basically made this pattern up myself, but my next one is coming from the current issue of Interweave Knits. It has a TON of great patterns in this issue, and I intend to make several of them. There's even a sweater that I'm thinking of making for Blair. We'll see...

What I've Been Up To Lately
First, I've been doing lots of knitting. I'm currently working on the sleeves to that sweater...pics as soon as it's done. I got a sewing book from my mom for my birthday (yes, I'm 23 now...let's all cheer...yay) because I really like to sew. I made this bag today:
It has a deep front pocket and a small side pocket, not to mention the two pockets I put on the inside.
This is a seven layer salad I made for my birthday:
Love it, love it.
I have designed a messenger bag that I intend to make tomorrow, but tomorrow is going to be really busy, so we'll just have to see about that I suppose.
Oh, and Karen...UPDATE YOUR BLOG! please...

Rainy day road trips
Blair and I went to Brentwood Saturday with Matt and Karen. Very rainy but still very fun. We stopped in Dickson at the Cracker Barrel first for lunch. Super delicious! We then proceeded to Brentwood and went to REI where Blair and I purchased a GPS unit for my car to prevent long moments of lostness. We made another trip to the yarn store from last Saturday so I could buy more yarn, and then we went to the mall where Blair, Matt, and Karen played in the Mac store and called me from iPhones while I was shopping in Teavana for more wonderful tea. We had Subway on the way home so Karen would actually be able to eat something. We were all pretty much exhausted by the time we finally got home.
